Prospective Materials.....

I was introduced to an interesting blog by Ali today; (i have added the link at the bottom) Karen, a British woman living in the fashion district of Manhatten New York. Her blog consists of various fashion events in New York (fashion week etc.) and the amazing clothes and bargains she manages to discover in the Big Apple. She really does manage to find some amazing things, and her wardrobe boasts a variety of beautiful items. It is interesting to see her range of clothes and discover how accessible/affordable she finds them to be, from one big city to another.

I've also been given a really good opportunity to do some further digging into vintage fashion from a different region this week, as the vintage shop in my hometown, 'Belle Couture' have agreed to let me interview them over the weekend and take photos, which i will then post on here.

The shop is small but very well stocked, and has some beautiful one off pieces including some fantastic jewellery; it has provided both my mum and I with some of our favourite trinkets including my Balenciaga crystal heart necklace, earrings and ring set, and both of us with Links of London bracelets.

Hopefully this will enable me to consider the factors of choosing vintage fashion on a smaller scale-how popular vintage items are in a small country town as opposed to the city life.

I will keep you posted.....pics and interview to follow shortly.
